LUCI DI CURVA

sabato 26 aprile 2008, 13:23

Annoying curve light

I imagined the curve light to be proportional to the steering lock. Maybe speed dependent, but still a soft effect that would turn the lights more if I turned the wheel more.

But no. It feels like some sort of flashlight. If I go over a certain, not yet determined speed, and steer a certain amount, it just opens something or does something that makes it shine to the side. The light pattern seen in a reflection head on does not change, wich makes me think that the actual projectors doesn't turn, it just opens up somthing that lets light out of the side. Really annoying (am not used to it yet) when it just flicks when I steer and just goes out when turning back. Not even a dimming effect, just ON or OFF.

But I might get used to it...

There is an AFS OFF button. It's been in "off" mode since I got the car since Mazda didn't disable the curvlight, just said that they should be in off mode. My dealer told me today that it is a H7 peice-of-shit-light that is activated. H7 must be the worst quality light ever to exist They fail ALL THE TIME.

But as you said Steve, I'll probably get used to it.

Hm na it's a seprate light. counting from the "inner side" of the light cluster its parking light > H7 curvlight > hi/low beam (indicators are there somewhere too, just don't remember where )

The reflector part around the H7 is shaped so that it blocks all light going forward. The H7 in it self has a shield on top of it. Then there is a cone shape in the reflector (I think it was cone shaped ). On the forward edge of that shape there is a little bit going out so that light can't shine forward.

And the light is active on both in daylight mode and night mode.
